Juli 18, 2012, hundreds workers from PT. Panarub Dwikarya who continues strike that they held since July 12, got a repression by the police and civilian. More than 100 workers who majority is women drew blood and need medical treatment arising out of attacking.
Around 2,000 workers PT. Panarub Dwikarya Tangerang still
continues a strike since their held this action at July 12. This happen because
not yet agreement reached between the workers and companies management.
Management didn't show a good faith to confer with and fulfill the worker
demands. Although the police was break up the strike with lachrymatory gas
shooting at second day, the workers still kept a spirit and continues their
strike.
“Because there is no more certainly from the companies (16/7), we
decided to stay and occupy the company until we get our rights”, Kokom
Komalawati, chairperson SBGTS PT. Panarub Dwikarya explained.
This strike triggered by the company whose not implemented a
policy about freedom of association, they also not running a decree of Banten
Governor about Province Minimum Wage (UMP) and Province Minimum Wage by Sector
(UMSP) in PT. Panarub Dwikarya. This policy should be implement started
on January 2012, but the companies just running this on May 2012. It's mean, PT
Panarub Dwikarya was a postpone and did not paid the workers according the
Governor decision.
Management must be paying wage deficiency around 606,150 rupiah
for all workers in PT. Panarub Dwikarya. Among the members of Panarub group
(PT. Panarub Industry, PT. Panarub Dwikarya and PT. Panarub Dwikarya Cikupa),
only in PT. Panarub Dwikarya the back payment didn't given.
“Beside a back payment money, holiday allowance (THR) is also one
of what the workers demands. Based on experience, PT. Panarub Dwikarya paying
THR lower than PT. Panarub Industri. Workers in PT. Panarub Dwikarya only get
one month salary for THR without consideration a working years”, Kokom said.
Another thing that is demanded is guarantee in freedom of
association. From 11 person who declaration SBGTS in PT. Panarub Dwikarya, 9
people get fired with a various reason. Union busting practice in PT. Panarub
Dwikarya must be stopped and the company have to employing back immediately
Kokom Komalawati (Chairperson) and Djamal Fikri (Secretary) and all of SBGTS
leaders who have been layoff.
“SBGTS-GSBI PT. Panarub Dwikarya also demanded payment overtime
wages for workers in groub B, facilitate annual leave, uniform, insurance
premium, grade and performance, raise a food, as well as elimination forced
working system”, Kokom explained
Meanwhile, Ismet Inoni, head of advocacy and law department of
GSBI condemn the repression that happened and convey PT. Panarub Dwikarya
should be fulfill all the workers demanded. That not only responsibility of PT.
Panarub Dwi Karya, but the brands (adidas and mizuno) also must take
responsibility, resolve problem that occurred and respecting the workers right.
Furthermore, Ismet expressed to all of union in Tangerang
also in national level and the other organization condemn the repressive action
and give support to workers who strike in PT. Panarub Dwikarya. A protest
letter can be submitted to management of PT. Panarub Dwikarya, Jalan Benoa
Raya, at Block B No1 Benoamas complex, Karawaci, Tangerang, Indonesia.
