Thousands workers PT Panarub Dwikarya held a rally on Adidas Representative Office in Jakarta


Thursday, July 19, 2012. Thousands workers PT Panarub Dwikarya that organize strike since July 12, come in numbers toward Adidas Representative Office in Jakarta. They did it after more a week of strike, parties management didn’t have a good will to solving problem in PT. Panarub Dwikarya, one of company which produced shoes with adidas brand.

By use of buses and motor cycle, they coming to Adidas Representative Office in Jakarta in order to demand that management must be paying wage deficiency around 606,150 rupiah for all workers in PT. Panarub Dwikarya. Beside a back payment money, holiday allowance (THR) is also one of what the workers demands. Another thing that is demanded is guarantee in freedom of association, payment overtime wages for workers in groub B, facilitate annual leave, uniform, insurance premium, grade and performance, raise a food, as well as elimination forced working system

“Even so PT. Panarub Dwikarya produced adidas, however nothing efforts they did to engage in solving the problem that’s happened in company, for this reason we came here today”, Kokom Komalawati, chairperson SBGTS-GSBI PT. Panarub Dwikarya said.

After delivered a speech, there are some of workers accepted to negotiate with the adidas parties which represented by Harrry Nurmansyah as a leader of Adidas Representative in Indonesia. That negotiation reached an agreement;
  1. Adidas accept all of complaint and report from the PT. Panarub Dwikarya workers related all of demanding the workers;
  2. Adidas will asking PT. Panarub Dwikarya management to open a new negotiate with the workers immediately;
  3. Adidas will asking PT. Panarub Dwikarya management to fulfill a normative rights that the workers demanded;
  4. The workers parties also open to negotiate with the management, at the latest July 20 2012
Based on the result of negotiation, Ismet Inoni, head of advocacy and law department of GSBI convey the views. “ Adidas still not yet a strong commitment to ensure that in PT. Panarub Dwikarya, the companies which produced an adidas to fulfill and respect the worker rights. Their effort  only asking the companies to negotiate, but didn’t have a direct intervention how to ensure PT. Panarub Dwikarya fulfill a normative rights that the workers demanded”, Ismet said

“For that reason, Adidas must be ensure that PT Panarub Dwikarya have a strong commitment to negotiate with the workers, including didn’t do a counter attack and violation against the workers who held a strike. As one of the main sponsorship a London Olyimpic 2012, adidas should be perform with consistent  the code of conduct, that given a respect and uphold the worker rights”, Ismet said.
