Press Statements Peoples’ Struggle Front (FPR) Strongly Condemn on all acts of Terror and Aggression by Turkish Government Against the Kurdish!
Great Solidarity for The Kurdish Struggle for Justice, Peace and Self-Determination!

We are the People's Struggle Front (FPR), the International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS) Chapter Indonesia and other democratic mass organizations in Indonesia, condemned the Turkish government's aggression against the Kurds in the northern Afrin region of Syria by means of aerial bombardment, artillery fire and tanks to suppress the Kurdish people and the Kurdish liberation movement.

We also saluted and appreciated to the progressive, democratic movements and all the Kurdish peoples of Afrin, in Turkey, Syria and in other countries for the consistency of their struggle against the attacks, military operations and bloody terror of the Turkish Government under the rule of Erdogan.

Historically, the Kurds have long been oppressed and discriminated. Their language has even been banned in Turkey. The government has attacked several Kurdish cities using firearms and war equipment under the pretext that it was a police attack on terrorists. In fact, this was a deliberate aggression and occupation to the Kurds. Attacks by Turkish troops in Afrin and surrounding areas have killed 18 people and injured 23 civilians including women and children.

Turkey's aggression against the Kurds relates to US interests to control oil resources and gas pipelines that have led to increased contradiction with Russia who seeking to defend the region. The main thing is the interests of imperialism in the arms trade competition and, to hit the growing liberation movement of the Kurdish nation.

Erdogan's military operations are essentially the same as the US-led aggression to the people in the Middle East countries such as Iraq, Syria, Libya, Iran and Palestine. Today, after failed in a campaign to overthrow Assad, the US seeks to save its position by doing everything in order to maintain the political presence in Syria. It’s very important effort for US in order to keep control over the security condition as well as control various unrest and provocations that it can recreate in the future.

US imperialists have always provoked a war to be able to subdue countries that defend their sovereignty, such as the People's Democratic Republic of Korea, as well as in the South China Sea. US imperialists also provoked on Global War on Terror and Drugs that encourage the Philippine government to apply the Martial Law policy to kill the people and forcing thousands of Filipinos to flee. In fact, the US also encourages President Duterte to act more fascist by stamped "terrorist" on human rights activists, advocates and human rights defenders in the Philippines. Similarly, the Indonesian people are facing oppression such as criminalization and state violence to people who fight for their democratic rights.

Therefore, the People's Struggle Front (FPR), the International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS) Chapter Indonesia, stated:

1.    Strongly condemn all acts of bloody terror and aggression committed by the Turkish government against the Kurds.
2.    Stop sending military forces and withdraw all Turkish military personnel and other Imperialist countries from Afrin.
3.    Stop all interventions, provocations, and the war of aggression waged by US imperialists in the Middle East and throughout the country.
4.    We also express our strong support and greatest solidarity to the Kurdish struggle against any form of attack and militarization of the Erdogan Government, and for its courageous struggle for self-determination, justice and national liberation.

We also call on all people to provide support and solidarity for the justice and liberation of the Kurdish people, as well as for the protection of human rights for the oppressed people throughout the world.

Banish Turkey and All Imperialists from Afrin!
